More Details about the Ingredients in Melabic

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)

ALA helps your cells’ ability to turn sugar into energy and decreases the need for your body to make insulin*. It also helps reduces HbA1c – a chemical that forms when sugar permanently attaches to your blood cells – helps protect against glycation – the most serious result of high blood sugar. How dangerous is glycation? Glycation destroys tissues around the kidney and retina, along with destroying insulin-producing beta cells. Glycation hardens your arteries and forms plaque, leading to high blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes.

* as reported in the journal Drug Research, May 1995

Zinc, Chromium and Biotin

Your body needs Zinc to make, move and use insulin. Zinc also protects your insulin-producing cells. Chromium “unlocks the door” to energy-producing cells. Chromium is needed to process glucose, and boosts the enzyme that makes it possible for your liver to use glucose: Biotin. Scientific work at the USDA, University of Vermont’s Division of Endocrinology and research published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association has all clearly shown that Zinc, Chromium and Biotin:

  • Helps reduce your demand for insulin, giving your pancreas a well-earned break
  • Helps reduce your cholesterol, helping save you from the heart disasters that kill most diabetics
  • Helps support insulin-producing beta cells, which make your pancreas more efficient
  • Helps make your body less resistant to insulin, reversing the first signs of diabetes
  • Helps protect your eyesight and immune system, and encourages weight loss.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon supports healthy blood sugar levels as well as helps reduces your total cholesterol, particularly your bad LDL cholesterol, and can help lower triglyceride fats.

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum)

Fenugreek is a tall annual herb that is native to the Mediterranean, Ukraine, India and China. The plant bears pods filled with numerous light brown, diamond-shaped seeds that possess a sweet maple aroma and are commonly used in cookery and flavouring.

Studies reveal that fenugreek helps regulate blood glucose. The glucose-regulating, antidiabetic properties of fenugreek seed are linked to a novel free amino acid, 4-hydroxyisoleucine. This compound stimulates insulin secretion, thereby limiting the extent to which blood glucose is elevated; by promoting insulin secretion and inhibiting the rise of blood glucose, it helps stabilize blood sugar and reduce body-fat production. In one human study, 15g/day fenugreek significantly reduced glucose levels after meals. Today fenugreek shows the value as an antidiabetic agent with potential for weight control due to its 4-hydroxyisoleucine content. Some supplements are capsules of powdered seed, while others are more concentrated extracts standardized to 4-hydroxyisoleucine.

Banaba

Banaba leaves are a popular plant medicine in the Philippines. It’s Corsolic Acid, and it’s known as “natural plant insulin”! Dr. William V. Judy worked at Southwestern Institute of Biomedical Research in Bradenton, Florida. In 1999, he discovered that the banaba plant lowered blood sugar levels for all patients. And guess what? Not only it is good for lowering blood sugar – it has an interesting side-effect, too: it promotes weight loss, an average of 2-4 pounds per month! And that’s without having to change your whole diet. Talk about a bonus! Banaba also controls appetite, especially any cravings for carbohydrates. And remember; carbohydrates are what cause your pancreas to work overtime!

Bitter Melon

Bitter melon is the common name for Momordica Charantia, also known as African cucumber, balsam pear and bitter gourd. The plant is aptly named, as all parts of the plant, including the fruit, taste bitter. Widely sold in Asian groceries as a vegetable, bitter melon is employed as a folk remedy primarily for regulating blood sugar in cases of diabetes, as well as for colitis and dysentery, intestinal worms, jaundice and fevers. Current understanding of the phytochemicals in bitter melon suggests that these multiple uses are well founded.

Among the constituents in bitter melon, charantin is identified as a primary agent for blood-sugar regulation. Charantin demonstrates hypoglycaemic (blood sugar lowering) or other actions of potential benefit in diabetes. The fruits also contain insulin-like peptides, including one known as polypeptide P, and alkaloids. It is likely that several substances in bitter melon contribute to its blood sugar-modifying effects. In human studies, bitter melon demonstrates significant blood-sugar control after food intake and overall blood sugar-lowering effects.

Gymnema Sylvestre

This last ingredient was used for more than 2000 years in the Indian Ayurvedic healing tradition. It’s an herb with a long name: Gymnema Sylvestre. But in Hindi it’s called “gumar” – which translates as “sugar destroyer”! If you were to chew the leaves of this plant, you would actually lose your ability to taste anything that was sweet! Gumar improves the effectiveness of insulin, but it also does something really amazing – gumar may actually rejuvenate a non-working pancreas! Gymnema Sylvestre is another herb, whose traditional use in treating diabetes, has been backed up by recent medical research. Originating from India, Gymnema Sylvestre is known as gur-mar, or “sugar destroyer.” When gymnema leaf is placed directly on the tongue, it eliminates the sensation of sweetness, even if sugar is put into the mouth immediately following. When taken internally, it helps to control blood-sugar levels in diabetes. The leaves of Gymnema Sylvestre perform two significant functions relative to diabetes. First, they suppress blood glucose, especially after eating. Secondly, they are insulinotropic and promote insulin secretion. By this two-pronged approach, Gymnema Sylvestre proves a valuable aid in diabetes control.

Fruits Low in Sugar Levels

Fruits Low in Sugar Levels

Fruits are delicious and contain lots of healthy nutrients. However, we are not aware of what fruits are low in sugar and what fruits to eat less because of sugar content.

If you are already prediabetic or diabetic, most probably you have to cut out processed foods, which are high in sugar content and indulge with fruits in the belief that all fruits are safe to eat. But still, moderation is the key as with most things in life.

You have to learn which fruits are low in sugar content and which one is not in order to lower blood sugar levels and satisfy your sweet tooth.

1. Watermelon

Watermelons are summer fruit and mostly made up of water. The same is a great source of iron and lycopene.

Iron is a mineral that our bodies need for many functions. It helps our muscles store and use oxygen. It is part of the hemoglobin, a protein that carries oxygen from our lungs throughout our bodies.

Lycopene is a phytonutrient, which is a naturally-occurring compound in fruits and vegetables that reacts with the human body to trigger healthy reactions. It is very effective at protecting cells from damage and may help lower the risk of heart disease, which may be the cause of Diabetes Mellitus.

2. Avocado

As you eat avocado, you could not taste any sweetness in it. This has shown to reverse insulin resistance and regulate blood sugar levels because of monounsaturated fats. This is also a load of soluble fiber, proper weight control and facilitates bowel regularity.

Monounsaturated fats (MUFA) are fats that are essential to our body since our body does not produce them on its own and must get them via dietary intake. It is so important in diet considering that they have anti-inflammatory properties that contribute to the overall health of the body. Inflammation is the root cause of most diseases. Hence, consuming avocado, which contain MUFA will keep your heart healthy.

3. Strawberries

Strawberries are packed with vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C and K, manganese, magnesium, potassium and folate. They are low calorie and fiber-rich fruits.

Vitamin C is water-soluble and could not be retained by our body. Hence, we need to take it every day, or it is an essential dietary component.

Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin that the human body requires for complete synthesis of certain proteins that are prerequisites for blood coagulation, and which the body also needs for controlling binding of calcium in bones and other tissues.

Manganese is a naturally-occurring mineral in our bodies in very small amounts. It is a powerful antioxidant that seeks out the free radicals in the human body and neutralizes these damaging particles, thus, preventing many of the potential dangers they cause.

Magnesium is a key mineral required by our body for maintaining its overall health. It is one of those essential minerals that assists in calcium absorption by the human body and plays a major role in the creation and strengthening of bones and teeth. Its health benefits include help manage diabetes, relieving constipation strengthening bones, improves heart health and relieving premenstrual syndrome.

Potassium decreases the risk of stroke, lowers blood pressure, protects against loss of muscle mass, preserve bone mineral density and reduce the formation of kidney stone.

Folate or Vitamin B9 is important since it plays a role in DNA synthesis and repair. It encourages cell and tissue growth. It helps metabolize homocysteine into methionine, an essential amino acid. Without adequate folate, homocysteine levels increase. This must be prevented since homocysteine has been linked to atherosclerosis and cardiovascular problems.

4. Lemon

This is high in Vitamin C and fairly sour fruit. Lemon with warm water is perfect to help curb your appetite. This is so delicious to drink. What makes this unhealthy is the sugar added to make it more palatable. So, don’t add sugar.

Its health benefits include treatment of diabetes, high blood pressure, fever, obesity, indigestion, constipation, throat infections and eliminate the occurrence of kidney stones. It is a fruit that contains flavonoids, which are composites that is with antioxidant.

It has also other nourishing elements: vitamin B6, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, iron, magnesium and potassium.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) plays an important role in a range of physical and psychological functions. They are most known for helping to maintain a healthy metabolism, nerve function, skin health, eye health, liver function as well as help to boost levels of energy.

Vitamin A (Retinol) plays a critical role in maintaining a healthy vision, neurological function, building strong bones and healthy skin. It is involved in reducing inflammation through fighting free-radical damage and supporting immune function.

Vitamin E treats and prevents diseases of the blood vessels and heart such as chest pains, high blood pressure, and blocked or hardened arteries. Free-radicals fight and break down the healthy cells in your body, and this can lead to heart disease and cancer. But certain isomers of Vitamin E have powerful oxidant abilities that have the power to reduce free radical damage and fight inflammation.

Potassium decreases the risk of stroke, lowers blood pressure, preserves bone mineral density, protects against loss of muscle mass, and reduces the formation of kidney stone. Its primary function in the body includes regulating fluid balance and controlling the electrical activity of the heart and other muscles. High potassium intake is important because of its vasodilation effects.

5. Oranges

It is the popular fruit because of its natural sweetness, wide variety of types and diversity of uses, from juices, marmalades, orange candies, liquid soaps, face masks and many others.

Drinking orange juice regularly prevents kidney diseases and reduces the risk of kidney stones. Since they are full of soluble fiber, oranges are helpful in lowering cholesterol. They are also contained vitamin C, which protects cells by neutralizing free radicals; potassium, an electrolyte mineral responsible for helping the heart function well. It is full of dietary fiber, which stimulates digestive juices and relieves constipation. The magnesium in oranges helps maintain blood pressure, and the flavonoid hesperidin found in oranges helps regulate high blood pressure.

6. Grapefruit

It is packed with the benefits derived from various nutrients and vitamins, including Vitamin C, lycopene, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. It is high in fiber and low in calories. This increases metabolic rate, lower insulin levels, and gives you a feeling of fullness. They assist the human body in fighting various conditions like diabetes, constipation, indigestion, fatigue, fever, urinary problems and excess acidity.

This works as an excellent appetite suppressant. This has been included in the weight-loss program because of its smell, which reduces the feeling of hunger. These help people to avoid overeating considering that it’s high-fiber content can satisfy hunger.

It is known as a way to boost the immune system against cold and other common illnesses. This is also beneficial in the treatment of fatigue, and this can help you dispel tiredness and useful for indigestion. It improves the flow of digestive juices, which facilitates the movement of the bowels and keeps your excretory system regulated.

7. Guavas

This fruit is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, lycopene, manganese, folate and potassium.

Fiber is important in lowering blood sugar levels. This also cleanses the digestive system and maintains free bowel movement. It prevents the development of diabetes due to its fiber content and low glycemic index. While fiber content ensures the sugar levels are well regulated, low glycemic index inhibits a sudden spike in sugar levels.

It improves the potassium and sodium of the body, thereby regulating blood pressure in patients with hypertension. It helps lower the levels of triglycerides and bad cholesterol (LDL), which contribute to the development of heart disease. This fruit improves the levels of the good cholesterol (HDL). It is also well-known as a booster for vision health.

8. Papayas

It is better for heart health, digestion, weight loss, relief from toothache, stronger immunity and skin care. It is the natural source of vitamins and minerals that are essential for the normal functioning of the body. Papaya is rich in antioxidant nutrients such as Vitamin C, carotene, flavonoids and magnesium.

Fruits Contain High Levels of Sugar

The following fruits contain high levels of sugar: pineapple, mangoes, apples, pears, bananas, prunes, lychees and tangerines. These fruits are so sweet and delicious.

Although, they are high in sugar levels, you could still eat of it to satisfy your craving for the said fruits but just a little cut of it or as much as two thumbs.

To eat fresh fruits is safer than eating sugary processed foods like cake, bread, and biscuits since fruits are with fibers that slow down digestion, which means your blood sugar levels will not spike as quickly after eating fruit. But still we have to follow the rule of thumb: “Whatever in excess is not always a success.”

For more information and for your protection if you have diabetes already, you may consult your doctor or registered dietitian in order to help you design your eating plan with fruits.

If you have any issues and concerns, feel free to leave your comment below and I will be glad to hear it.

Products Reviews

I am a Registered Nurse, but I got interested with alternative medicines since I do believe that people should not spend much just to cure the illness. You can avoid Diabetes Mellitus. If you are already stricken with it, you could lower the blood-sugar levels naturally. My mother died because of DM’s complications of the heart. I do not want you to experience the suffering my mother encountered: difficulty in breathing, blurred vision, numbness of the hands and feet and body itching.

I tackled in my first post regarding lowering blood-sugar levels naturally so that you will not spend much.

However, if you do not have time or do not like the taste of the bitter gourd, I would suggest the following:

1. KryptOrganic

I underwent a Fasting Blood Sugar test last April 7, 2018, and the result was 113 mg/dl, which is an above-normal blood-sugar level.

Because of the FBS result, I bought one bottle of KryptOrganic, which is readily available in our place and in online stores. After one month taking of this herbal medicine or on June 17, 2018, the result  was 83.9 mg/dl.

I am so happy and satisfied for this outcome, which brings down my FBS result to normal level, although I didn’t go on diet and continuously eating sweet foods.

Alternatives

NATURAL ALTERNATIVE HEALTH REMEDIES

Ampalaya (Momordica Charantia)

It is also known as bitter gourd or bitter melon in English; widely grown in the Philippines for its fruit with many uses. Its many varieties differ substantially in the shape and bitterness of the fruit. It is a unique vegetable-fruit that can be used as food or medicine.

The fruit is most often eaten green. At this stage, the skin is tender and edible. The flesh of the fruit is crunchy and watery in texture. Pith and seeds pith appear white in unripe fruits. They are not that bitter and can be removed before cooking. The young shoots and leaves of the bitter melon may also be eaten as greens.

Philippine Law on Traditional and Alternative Medicine

Republic Act No. 8423 known as the Traditional and Alternative Medicine Act (TAMA) of 1997, was approved on December 9, 1997. One of its objectives is to encourage scientific research on and develop traditional and alternative health care systems that have a direct impact on public health care.

Relative to this, one of the identified herbal medicines is the Ampalaya (Momordica Charantia) common name includes “bitter melon” or “bitter gourd”. Accordingly, this Philippine herbal Medicine has been found to be effective in the treatment of diabetes mellitushemorrhoids, coughs, burns and scalds, and being studied for anti-cancer properties.

They have been in use for a very long time in Philippine medicine as lowering blood sugar levels.

Bitter gourd on diabetes

Bitter melon has long been used as a herbal remedy for a range of ailments, including Type 2 diabetes aside from being a food ingredient.

The fruit contains at least three active substances with anti-diabetic properties, including charantin, vicine and polypeptide-p, which have been confirmed to have a blood glucose-lowering effect. These substances either work individually or together to help reduce blood sugar levels.

It is also known to contain lectin that reduces blood glucose concentrations and suppressing appetite — similar to the effects of insulin in peripheral tissues and in the brain.

Consumption tips – bitter gourd

  1. Choose unripe bitter melons that are firm.
  2. Avoid those that have turned orange or have soft spots.
  3. Store bitter melons in the vegetable bin in the refrigerator to prolong shelf-life.
  4. Clean your bitter melon under cold running water and brush with a soft  vegetable brush.
  5. To prepare, slice the melon length-wise and scoop out the seeds. To lessen the bitter flavor, soak it in salt water for about half an hour before juicing or cooking.
  6. Get the larger variety because it is less in bitterness.
  7. To make a bitter gourd juice more palatable, add a teaspoon of honey, or add another fresh juice such as apple juice, carrot juice, tomatoes juice or grape juice.

Availability of bitter melon

Bitter melon can be taken in several forms: it can be eaten as a vegetable; made into juice; the seeds can be added to food in a powdered form; it can be used in the form of a decoction by boiling pieces of the bitter melon in water; bitter melon extract can be bought as a herbal supplement.

There are plenty of ways to cook it:

  1. Ampalaya Salad. Wash the cut Ampalaya with salt and then rinse to lessen bitterness. Mix it with tomatoes (no seeds), cucumber (no seeds), onion, water, and a little vinegar with salt.
  2. Ampalaya with egg. After cooking the fried garlic and onion, mix it with ampalaya, egg and a little salt.
  3. Ampalaya with meat. After cooking the fried garlic, onion & meat, mix it with ampalaya, egg and a little salt.
  4. Ampalaya mixed with other vegetables. Sautes garlic and onion. Then, mix it with squash, eggplant and lady’s finger (Okra). Put a little water, soy sauce, salt or seasoning.

Horseradish ( Moringa Oleifera)

This species is one of the world’s most useful plants. In East Africa, it is appropriately known as “Mother’s best friend.”

Of all the product of the tree, the leaves are used the most. It is full of nutrients, low in fats and carbohydrates and rich in minerals, Iron and Vitamin B. It is used in traditional medicine for treatment of various diseases. It has been dubbed by some as “The Miracle Tree.” Scientific research has proven that these leaves are exceptionally high of nutritional value.

Gram for gram, it contains:

  1. 7 times the vitamin C in oranges. Vitamin C strengthens our immune system and fights infectious diseases, including colds and flu.
  2. 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots. Vitamin A acts as a shield against diseases of the eyes, skin and heart, diarrhea and many other ailments.
  3. 4 times the calcium in milk. Calcium helps strong bones and teeth, prevent osteoporosis.
  4. 2 times the protein in milk. The building blocks of our bodies are made of amino acids.
  5. 3 times the iron in spinach. Iron is essential for helping transport oxygen from the lungs to the body’s cells. An iron deficiency can lead to anemia, causing fatigue, decreased immunity. It helps fuel brain power.
  6. 3 times the potassium in bananas. It helps muscles contract, keeps the nervous system working properly, and aids in managing blood pressure.

Medicinal Qualities:

1. Hypoglycemic- an extract has been shown to be effective in lowering blood sugar levels. It is believed to have a stabilizing effect on blood pressure and is used  to treat anxiety.

High blood sugar can be a serious health problem. In fact, it is the main  characteristic of diabetes. Over time, high blood sugar raises the risk of many serious health problems, including heart disease. For this reason, it is important to keep blood sugar within healthy limits. Interestingly, several studies have shown that Moringa Oleifera may help lower blood sugar levels. These effects are caused by plant compounds found in Moringa leaves, such as isothiocyanates.

Moringa leaf powder has been effective at reducing lipid and glucose levels and regulating oxidative stress in diabetic patients, which means it lowers blood sugar and cholesterol and improves protection against cell damage.

2. Detoxification – studies have shown Moringa’s ability to remove hazardous material from water.

3. Antibiotic – Moringa is used as a tropical treatment for minor infections. Its antibiotic property is identified as Pterygospermin, a bacterial and fungicidal compound.

4. Anthelmintic/Purgative – able to kill intestinal worms.

5. Latagogue – believed to increase a woman’s milk production. Can do much to preserve the mother’s health and pass on strength to the fetus or nursing       child.

6. Diuretic – aids in urination.

The powder made from fresh Moringa leaves seems to provide a long-lasting  energy boost when used regularly. People frequently report having much more endurance in their work, at home and at play. It is prescribed for malnutrition and sometimes prescribed for anemia. Leaves are used as a remedy for diarrhea, dysentery and colitis.

Ways to cook this herb:

  1. Horseradish with corn soup. Stew the  chicken, then add onion, garlic, corn, horseradish and salt to taste.
  2. Horseradish omellet. Scramble the eggs, whisk horseradish leaves into it before frying. Add some tomatoes and onion for extra flavor and salt to taste.

  4. Horseradish Oyster Rockefeller. Baked the oyster. Then, top it with butter, cheese and whisk with horseradish.

Chili (Capsicum Frutescens)

It is an excellent source of Calcium, Iron, Phosphorous, Vitamin A and B. It is used as a food spice and an aid to digestion, and was once thought to aggravate stomach ulcers. Researchers indicated that Capsicum could help prevent the formation of dangerous blood clots. Scientists have concluded that Capsicum does possess fibrinolytic activity, meaning that it can break down blood clots. The active ingredient in Capsicum is a compound called “Capsaicin” which is a cardiovascular stimulant. Capsaicin acts as a dramatic and long lasting anesthetic.

Medicinal Qualities:

It normalizes blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol, Cardiovascular stimulant, blood detoxification, anti-fatigue, anti-arthritis, anti-rheumatic, immune system booster, improves metabolism, increase appetite, benefits digestion, relieves respiratory conditions such as asthma, coughs and colds, and relieves intestinal inflammation.

Sweet Potato Leaves (Ipomoea Batatas)

The genus Ipomoea, with over 500 species, is the largest genus in the family convolvulaceae. The genus includes important food crops (sweet potato and water spinach. Ipomoea batatas (also known as Caiapo) is the only plant with iodine. It is high in calories and Vitamin A.

Medicinal Qualities:

  1. It lowers blood sugar and cholesterol in patients with Type 2 Diabetes.

You should consult your doctor or healthcare professional first if you are considering these herbal medicines to have normal blood sugar levels to check if it is safe for use alongside your prescribed diabetes medication, as there is the risk that taking these herbs together with these drugs and/or insulin could cause hypoglycemia (extremely low blood sugar).

It is our intention to help everyone to have normal blood sugar levels. Any related comment, issue or concern will be highly appreciated. Please have it below.

Activities

ACTIVITIES AFFECT BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS

I have interviewed some respondents in order to determine their activities on how their lifestyles affect their blood sugar levels.

Diabetic People

Ian (no family name to protect privacy) is 42 years old. His Diabetes Mellitus was confirmed in 2009. The highest Fasting Blood Sugar result he got was 434 mg/dl.

He got into the routine of taking insulin shots every time his blood sugar levels escalated because he soon became insulin-dependent. His blood sugar levels do not lower down to normal levels even after injecting insulin.

His lifestyle involves him eating white cooked rice three times a day and in-between snacks and exercising by playing basketball two times a week for one hour. He does not administer herbal medicine, and does not like to eat vegetables or bitter gourd because of its bitterness.

The following are his signs and symptoms: frequent urination, body
itchiness, dizziness, excessive thirst, hunger and blurred vision.

On the other hand, Rheza (no family name to protect privacy) is 45 years old. Her diabetes mellitus started in December 2016. The highest Fasting Blood Sugar result she got was 167 mg/dl.

She administers a tablet every time her blood sugar levels shoot up. Her blood sugar levels lower down to normal levels but would just get back to high blood sugar levels after a few weeks.

She eats white cooked rice a lot for three (3) times a day and in between  snacks. Her form of exercise is brisk walking and doing household chores. She does not administer herbal medicine, but she likes to eat vegetables like a bitter gourd.

The following are her signs and symptoms: increased urine output, hunger, fatigue and blurred vision.

We need to try by all means to minimize eating sugar-rich or carbohydrates-rich foods as much as possible in order to prevent its after effect like blurred vision, numbness, itchiness, slow-healing wound, gangrene feet/fingers and all other signs and symptoms.

People with Normal Blood Sugar Levels

Nestor Hupida is already 54 years old. During his Medical check-up last December 2017, his FBS result is only 95 mg/dL. According to him, he hasn’t yet experienced high blood sugar levels.

He eats a lot during breakfast and lunch but light only during dinner. His routine is to jog for 45 minutes from Mondays-Fridays and to drive bicycle for four (4) Hours on Saturdays and holidays.

While Dr. Jacobo Maria DV. Mendoza, is 40 years old. During his Medical check-up last December 2017, his FBS result is only 96 mg/dL. According to him, he never experiences yet to have high blood sugar levels.

He eats a lot of protein-rich foods but low in carbohydrates. His routine exercise is to go to gym for one (1) hour almost every day except Sunday and swimming during vacation and when time permits.

Conclusion

After the interviews, we could observe of what is common with people with high blood sugar levels: lack of exercise or eat much of carbohydrate-rich foods like bread and white rice.

The foods they eat do not compensate the release of energy-using glucose. Most of the reasons that they gave were that they do not have time, or they were so tired from work.

However, we have to change this mindset in order to have normal blood sugar levels, to live longer, avoid or minimize the use of synthetic medicines and not be burdensome to our families.

The following tips would help to minimize the high blood sugar levels:

1. Convert sedentary lifestyle or passive activities to active activities.

2. Buy only enough food a few meals at a time.

3. Don’t keep the large amount of food on hand since there is always a possibility of eating it all at once.

4. Learn what triggers your craving for foods like very hungry, no self-control on eating, always thinking about foods.

5. If you are used to eating when you are very hungry already, the tendency is you will eat too much. Foods must be eaten slowly and masticated well to avoid swallowing large amounts of foods. Learn to control them and you must know the cue on this.

6. Prepare your fresh meal. Do not rely on fastfoods since these foods are  likely to be high in calories because of the methods used in preparation. And you might order for much and thereby overeat.

Diabetic disease can be controlled if we only practice a healthy eating habit and frequent exercises that will help control our blood sugar levels.

Will power and correct mindset are the rule on lowering blood sugar levels as failure is just in a corner to happen.

I am inviting everyone either diabetic or with normal blood sugar levels to send  me a private message to speedonlinebiz@gmail.com, if you want to be featured in this website to help everyone to understand the effects of this illness and to inspire people to have a healthy life. Please state your name, age, FBS results with date, usual foods eaten, daily activities; and confirmed date, signs and symptoms, if diabetic.

If you have any issue or concern, I will be glad to hear and assist you. Please leave your comment below.

How to Lower Blood Sugar Naturally

Normal Blood Sugar – Healthy Body

We do really love to eat and much more on foods rich in Carbohydrates — burgers, pizza pies, French fries, pastas and even those mouthwatering desserts of all sorts together with sweetened beverages and the like.

Not as much as I would have liked to eat these foods, but almost everyone. Don’t you? Some of us may or may not know the effects of these habits, but despite that we still keep on patronizing these products, guilty pleasures indeed. And as we do so, it impacts our body by increasing the sugar levels in our blood.

High blood sugar levels or blood glucose may actually cause diabetes. Glucose comes from the food we eat and insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose gets into our cells to give them energy. Normally, blood glucose levels are tightly controlled by insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas that lowers blood glucose levels.

When the blood glucose elevates, insulin is released from the pancreas to normalize the glucose levels by promoting the uptake of glucose into body cells. In patients with diabetes, the insufficient production of or lack of response to insulin causes hyperglycemia.

With prediabetes, this means that our blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be called diabetes. Having prediabetes puts us at a higher risk of getting diabetes.

If with diabetes already, our body does not make insulin or does not use insulin well. Without enough insulin, the glucose stays in our blood.

Over time, having too much glucose in your blood may cause serious problems. It can damage our kidneys, nerves and eyes. Heart disease, stroke and even the need to remove a limb may also be possible.

Diabetes Data

According to the latest data of the Department of Health – Philippines in 2013, Diabetes Mellitus deaths reached 33,656 or 6.46% of total deaths. The same is number 6 cause death in the Philippines and number 20 in the world. The department predicts that from 2.7 million in 2000, the number of diabetics in the country will reach 7.7 million by the year 2030.

With regard to the data of World Health Organization, diabetes prevalence increased fourfold, from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. In the Philippines, the situation is no better where it is estimated that 1 in 5 Filipinos is a diabetic.

Diabetes now affects even young people but it is a trend not only in the Philippines, but elsewhere. The rate of diabetes affecting those aged 18 and above has risen to 8.5 in 2014 from 4.7 in 1980 per World Health Organization’s data.

About Me

About Me

Renz here, passionate about natural/herbal medicines. Nice to meet you and I am very glad to have you visited this site.

I will give you a little background of myself. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Laws, Master in Public Administration and module of Computer Programming.

During my grade school years, my father established an electronic shop. That was the time my interest on electronics came in.

In my high school years, I attended in a trade school where technical skills of students were developed like electronics, electrical, automotive, machine shop, drafting and carpentry. I took up electronics as my elective subject since it was my passion. I really dreamed of becoming an Electronic Engineer.

When we transferred residence to pursue my college studies, my father asked me about the tuition fee of a private school for Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and I said it was 8,500 Philippine Pesos or $216 per semester. Then, he asked again: how much is the tuition fee of a public school for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing? I answered: it is 516 Philippine Pesos or $13. Then, he said: here are 600 Philippine Pesos or $15 and keep the change. Lol . . . . . . . .  I was not able to pursue my dream course because of poverty. However, it did not hinder my dream to finish school and pursue my passion on electronics, specifically on computer and internet.

In May 2014, my mother died of complications of Diabetes Mellitus, and I also have distant relatives died of the same case. Mine and of my wife’s blood sugar is also above normal already. In the Philippines alone, it has about 6 million or 5.8% cases of Diabetes Mellitus in 2016. This is quite alarming.

I came to know that there are drugs and medicines for Diabetes Mellitus but compromise other organs of the human body. That is why I got interested on natural/herbal medicines considering that these have less adverse effect to our organs considering as if we are just eating fruits and vegetables in the powdered form. However, to get into this must always be upon the advised of a doctor.

My passion on electronics and natural/herbal medicines volts in. I want to be of help in this little way to people who are in need of information on these matters.

You have come to lowersugarlevel.com to learn about natural/herbal medicines. We have to fight this illness naturally, and I want to be an advocate in minimizing Diabetes Mellitus case.

It is my goal to help absolutely everyone who is serious about lowering their blood sugar levels. You will find me here in discussions and within my profile helping out in every way I can.

It is my pleasure to assist you and anybody else, and I look forward to getting to know and work with you!
